These perfect, Southern-style cheese straws can also be turned into coins if you don't have a press!  They make a wonderful appetizer or hostess gift.

Once chilled, scoop the  dough and roll it into a ball that is a little smaller than a golf ball.

With the mixer on low, mix in the flour. You should have a soft, crumbly dough.

Scoop the dough into the barrel of your cookie press fitted with an open star shaped disk.

On a parchment- lined pan, extrude the dough in a continual rope, cutting to desired size. Leave an inch or two between each one.

Bake at 350°F for about 12 minutes until the dough has set. Remove from oven & cool completely.
