Nutella Caramel Sauce

Nutella Caramel Sauce! Sweet and decadent this sauce is a perfect combination of caramel, chocolate, and hazelnut. A great ice cream topping!

Ingredients

  • ½ cup  half & half
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • ¼ cup water
  • ¾ cup Nutella
  • 1 tablespoon corn syrup
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • teaspoon sea salt

Instructions

  • Warm half & half in a microwaveable cup until steaming (30-45 seconds).
  • Combine the sugar and water in a small saucepan over high heat and bring to a boil without stirring, until amber brown. (Keep an eye on this, it can burn VERY quickly.)
  • Carefully whisk in warm cream until smooth and let cook for 1 minute. The caramel will bubble & rise, so use a big enough saucepan so it does not overflow.
  • Remove from the heat and whisk in the Nutella, corn syrup, salt and vanilla extract until smooth. Transfer to a heat safe bowl.
  • Allow to cool until thickened, then transfer to jar or container. Once slightly cooled, keep refrigerated.
