Equipment

  • Sharp serrated knife for slicing the baguette
  • Cutting board
  • Baking sheet
  • Pastry brush or spoon to brush or drizzle olive oil

Ingredients

  • 1 French baguette about 12–14 oz, sliced into ¼-inch rounds (about 24 slices)
  • 3 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • ½ teaspoon sea salt or to taste

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375°F. Arrange baguette slices on a baking sheet.
  • Drizzle lightly with olive oil.
  • Bake for 8–10 minutes until golden.
  • Remove from oven and immediately rub each slice with the cut side of garlic. Sprinkle lightly with sea salt. Serve warm or at room temperature.
