As a kid, Halloween used to be my favorite. My school had a great Halloween carnival, and trick-or-treating with friends was always so much fun. But I have to admit that Halloween lost its luster after college and until recently, it seemed like more of a nuisance than anything else.
Now, as a mom, the appeal is starting to resurface since I'm getting to experience all of the fun parts of Halloween through my little one's eyes. And seriously, is there anything cuter than a baby in costume?
Admittedly, I've never been into the spooky side of the celebration {I used to end my bedtime prayers with, "And please don't let me see any ghosts or aliens. Amen." if that gives you any idea about how brave I was and am}, but there are plenty of things about Halloween that don't focus on the frights, which I'm grateful for I'm still recovering from the last horror movie I watched 12 years ago.
Depending on your views about junk food and candy, this time of year can definitely be a bit of a nightmare. I'd be lying if I said that I didn't have my favorite treats that make it into my Halloween stash each year, but learning about some of the ingredients they contain definitely takes the wind out of my proverbial sails. I've discovered that just like you can't unsee a scary movie, you can't unlearn about the yucky stuff that goes into some of our most beloved treats. It's a real bummer!
Luckily, there are some companies that want to put the fun back in treats without adding chemicals and questionable ingredients, like Unreal. They recreate some of our most beloved treats using only real ingredients, sustainably sourced products and minimal "yuckies." Basically, they're our hero.
This year, my buddies at Stonyfield have partnered with Unreal and have asked the members of the Clean Plate Club to create some fun treats using their products. And guess what? For once, I hoped to see "ghosts" in my house...
These sweet treats are so perfect for a Halloween party. Each little shot glass holds just enough to satisfy a sweet tooth without going overboard. The creamy mousse is made with Stonyfield Whole Milk French Vanilla Yogurt, cream cheese and, of course, Unreal Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups, folded with just enough whipped cream to make each bite fluffy and smooth.
Topped with whipped cream ghosts and decorated with mini chocolate chips and Unreal Candy Coated Milk Chocolates {made with all-natural colors!}, the only scary part will be just how quickly they vanish!
Disclosure: I have an ongoing partnership with Stonyfield Organic as a member of their Clean Plate Club and received this product for review. As always, the opinions here are all my own!

This is UNREAL! Seriously, so cute and yet so delicious! I can't wait to give these a try. I'm trying to contain myself from eating all the candy this year... lol

Thanks, Katie! Yes, these are so easy they can be a little bit dangerous... hence serving them in shot glasses for "portion control." 😉 Have your husband hide the candy from you & you should be good! But if you do snack on Unreal, at least it's healthier than the other stuff!

These were pretty yummy but the recipe didn't make enough whipped topping to really make good sized ghosts for the 6-8 portions it is supposed to make. But still cute. I decided I don't really like a peanut butter mouse that much, but am sure those that do would really enjoy! A few of the cups didn't get chopped up all the way and made for a fun treat for some of us!

Thanks for letting me know! My ghosts were pretty small -- probably only about a tablespoon to a tablespoon and a half of piped whipped cream -- since the serving glasses I used were pretty small, too. As far as the mousse, you can actually flavor it any way you'd like with the addition of different ingredients! Caramel, melted chocolate, and even jam would be interesting to try! Since the peanut butter cups are pretty hard, you definitely have to let the food processor run long enough to chop them all up, but I liked that there were little PB cup "chips" throughout the mousse. I'm glad you tried it out and that it was enjoyed by some! 🙂
