Well, guys, February is already coming to a close, which I would say is hard to believe, but I feel like that's what I say at the end of every month. Adulthood.
With the conclusion of February also comes a very important deadline that I've mentioned in a few of my previous posts: The end of Open Enrollment for Florida Prepaid College Plans. Not to make you anxious or anything, but time's a wastin' if you want to start saving for your kids' college tuition.
The real question is, if you're a Florida resident, why wouldn't you want to start saving using one of Florida Prepaid's affordable plans? I have a sneaking suspicion that a good percentage of parents who hold off on signing up have some misconceptions about how the plans work.
So, today, I'm here to debunk some of the "Myths" that may be keeping you from getting started on saving those pennies today!
MYTH 1: You can only use Florida Prepaid funds if your child goes to a Florida school.
FACT: Good news! If your child decides to go to school out-of-state, the value covered by your Florida Prepaid college plan remains the same. No money is lost.
MYTH 2: Florida Prepaid can only be used if your child remains a Florida resident.
FACT: While it's required for purchasers to be Florida residents at the time they start a Florida Prepaid plan, there are no penalties for moving out of state after purchase. Tuition would be billed at in-state tuition rates when using their plan at a Florida college or state university. As a bonus, if your child chooses a Florida College or University, having a Florida Prepaid plan would entitle them to in-state resident tuition.
MYTH 3: You'll lose your money if your child decides not to attend college.
FACT: There's no need to fear: If your child chooses a path that doesn't include college, you can request a refund equal to the payments you've made. Alternatively, you can also transfer benefits to another family member if you prefer to do so.
Feeling better yet? I know it can be overwhelming to start saving for something that seems so far away, but just like the end of the month has snuck up on us once again, so will the time to send those kids off to college. {:: sniffle ::} If you still have questions or doubts, be sure to check out Florida Prepaid's FAQ page where you can get answers to your most pressing questions.

I know, I know. "How the heck is she going to tie food into this one?"
You underestimate me, my {hungry} friend.
Just like the myths I mentioned above might keep you from doing something that can seem daunting, so can the myths related to cooking. I heart it all the time from friends who keep a safe distance from the kitchen: "I don't want to waste money buying tons of ingredients when I don't even cook that often."
I get it. Not everyone spends their life in front of the oven like I do. But everyone does get hungry. And I believe everyone should have a handful of easy, simple recipes in their pocket so that they don't have to rely on delivery service 7 days a week.
That's why I'm doing some more myth-busting by sharing these 10 recipes that only contain FIVE ingredients. They're uncomplicated, but ultra-flavorful and the grocery list is so short that you may even be able to remember everything you need without writing it down. {Ok, let's not get crazy... open up that Notes app without any shame.}
I've borrowed 10 simple 5 ingredient recipes from some blogger friends around the web, so all you have to do is gather those 5 ingredients and get cooking!
